Jesus is rabies

This is inspired by a recent comment exchange regarding religion. Jesus is sort of like rabies. People have died because of rabies, even if they do not contract it. Animals that might otherwise leave humans alone go and kill them. The animals might be otherwise nice, but rabies makes them think that it's a good idea to kill. What's worse is that some animals kill people for not having rabies. Also, for better or for worse, rabies in this world does not kill people (directly). Now these animals are otherwise very nice, so you really can't euthanize them. Unfortunately, there's no known vaccine, and a cure is very difficult and based partially on wanting to be cured. In fact, some animals knowingly and intentionally infect their young with rabies.

There's some Brain Chow&tm; for you.

Can you explain this? I don't think I've ever heard that. You mean a raccoon who has rabies is aware of it and deliberately infects its young with it? I understand the Jesus metaphor part of it, but I've never heard of that in the wild before I don't think.

No, that doesn't actually apply to rabies (except accidentally). Of course, the non-fatal and no vaccine parts don't apply to rabies.

The implication is that maybe Christianity is worse than rabies.

Christianity has also done some good, dont think the same can be said about rabies. people can pervert anything. war was also waged in the name of love...remember troy...no of course not..people always blame god for war. i am so sick of crazies running around yelling "remember the crusades"

*sigh dont mean to jump on you im just sick of all this antichristian bullshit. so what if i want to worship an imaginary being, im not hurting anyone, leave me alone. *cries.

It's ok Jolene. I honestly don't care one way or the other. I sometimes express viewpoints that I don't hold (which sounds like a huge cop-out, I know.) The cool thing about LJ is that it doesn't matter, which is why I can write asinine things on it.

bah, i know that you hate me and my jesus loving way, you cant fool me, im so on to you...insert evil laugh here.

i was thinking about your analogy and i thought that HIV worked a little better....because it is not always passed on to children, but it sure is hard to not get HIV if your parents have it, also if affects mostly the poor and ignorant people of the world. And it can kind of go away and you feel fine the all of a sudden, wham and its back. plus...i dont know...when you used the rabies analogy all i could think of was christians frothing at the mouth and i dont think they do that.
